Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Scholarship
This scholarship endowment was created by the Epsilon Rho Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. at Cumberland Community Foundation in memory of Dr. George L. Butler, DDS, to make a college education accessible to deserving students. The Chapter awards multiple merit-based $1,000 scholarships annually to graduating African American male seniors who plan to pursue higher education. This scholarship promotes the Fraternity's Go-to-High School, Go-to-College, and Project Alpha national programs designed to mentor and support life-long success through awareness and education.
 
 
Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated Scholarship
Established in 2021, the Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated Scholarship Endowment of CCF was created by the Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated for the purpose of making a college education accessible to deserving students. Since 1954, the Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated has provided scholarships to youth entering college. From its humble beginnings in 1953, the Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter has been vital, valuable, and visible in the community serving youth, adults, and families.
 
 
Friends of African American Families Fund
The Friends of African American Families Fund was established in 1992 by two outstanding Black community educators, Dr. Ruby Murchison and Dr. John Griffin. Their vision and the fund's purpose is to provide financial support for local initiatives focused on improving the conditions of life for African American families, especially children. The programs supported by the fund are committed to improving children's educational, social, and physical skills. The hope is to grow this fund and continue to support wonderful programs in Cumberland County for generations to come.

Summertime Kids Endowment Fund
Every summer since 1992, the Summertime Kids program of CCF has helped more than 1,000 youth have life-changing summer experiences. Many of these youth are from low-income families and underserved communities. All donations benefit recreational, enrichment, and mentoring activities for youth in summer camps that are offered by local nonprofit organizations, neighborhood groups, and other community groups.
 
 
Women's Giving Circle of Cumberland County- Endowment Fund
Since 2008, the Women's Giving Circle of Cumberland County has provided targeted grants to nonprofit organizations in Cumberland County that enable positive change for women and children. The grants are in focus areas indicated by research and are published in a biannual Community Scorecard. The current focus areas for grants are: basic needs (home, job, food, healthcare, and human trafficking), educational insecurities (literacy, financial literacy, and academic), and child security (child abuse, foster care, and child care). Oversight of grants includes tracking, evaluating, and auditing to verify the proper use of funds.
 
 
82nd Airborne Division Association, Inc.
The 82nd Airborne Division Association is dedicated to preserving the 82nd Airborne's legacy and strengthening the bond between past and present troopers. The association provides assistance to improve the lives of active duty troopers and their families, especially during times of crisis, by supplying holiday meals, natural disaster assistance, and resiliency operations to redeploying troopers. The organization's mission addresses current issues important to the lives of those who served and who continue to serve in "America's Guard of Honor" Division.
 
 
 
Airborne and Special Operations Museum Foundation
The Airborne & Special Operations Museum Foundation (ASOMF) provides marketing, fundraising, and events for the ASOM. ASOMF's mission is to help the public understand Airborne and Special Operations history through author visits, presentations, and discussions on topics related to the museum and observances tied to significant dates in military history. ASOM Foundation receives no funding from the federal government or Department of Defense and truly stands on its own through the generosity of donors and grants. Supporting the ASOM Foundation ensures the museum continues to educate and inspire future generations.
 
 
 
Alms House, Inc.
ALMS HOUSE offers a "hand up" to families and individuals in Hope Mills and the surrounding area. ALMS HOUSE's focus is to end hunger, poverty, and hardships among families, senior adults, the homeless, and veterans. ALMS HOUSE envisions a community in which the most vulnerable people are able to lift themselves out of poverty to live a productive life. Programs include a food pantry, clothing closet, household items, Bibles, weekend food bags to school children, and limited financial assistance. Love Meals are served seven days a week.
 
 
 
American Red Cross - Sandhills Chapter
The American Red Cross — Sandhills Chapter prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing volunteers' power and the generosity of donors. The Sandhills Chapter has a strong network of volunteers and partners in times of need and aspires to turn compassion into action so that all people affected by a disaster in Cumberland County receive care, shelter, and hope. It is ready and prepared for disasters. The organization also ensures all members of the armed services and their families find support and comfort when they return from deployment or in any time of need.
 
 
 
Armed Services YMCA of Fort Liberty
The Armed Services YMCA enhances military members' and families' lives through programs relevant to military life's unique challenges, with a focus on junior enlisted soldiers. Programs encourage spouse employment, support military kids' academic success, provide nutritious meals, and more. Military life is full of challenges from frequent moves, isolation from friends and family, and separation due to training or deployment. As one of three nationwide nonprofits with a contract to operate on military installations, the Armed Services YMCA is dedicated to strengthening military families.
 
 
 
Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County
The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County connects communities, embraces diversity, promotes individual creativity, advances economic development, and fosters lifelong learning through the arts. The Arts Council's Artists In Schools (AIS) program provides curriculum-focused arts integration engagements taught by vetted teaching artists at a reduced or free cost to schools. Last year, AIS reached 29% of all school-aged children in Cumberland County, including 93% of Title I Schools, providing all students with equitable opportunity to the arts.
 
 
 
Balm In Gilead Family Counseling Ministries, Inc.
Balm in Gilead Family Counseling's purpose is to help individuals, families, and communities in need. The organization hosts a food pantry that includes both perishable and non-perishable food items, disaster relief supplies, clothing, household items, and school supplies. Counseling services and pantry items are continuously distributed, via appointment, to individuals and families in Cumberland and surrounding counties. Balm In Gilead is the designated dropoff site for the Cumberland Strong Disaster Relief Coalition and also participates in the BackPack Buddies program for Cumberland County.
 
 
 
Better Health of Cumberland County, Inc.
The mission of Better Health is to provide for unmet health care needs in Cumberland County through assistance, referral, and education. Whether purchasing life-sustaining medicine, providing dental care, helping teach the proper use of insulin, or loaning a wheelchair, the organization strives to improve the health of each client. The programs of Better Health support clients of all ages who have no insurance and are low income or unemployed. Gifts to Better Health can help provide life-saving medications, vision screenings and prescribed glasses, or critical dental care to those in need.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Cumberland County's mission is to inspire all youth, especially youth in need, to become productive, responsible, and caring citizens. In 1989, Fayetteville gardening enthusiasts shared a vision to create a botanical garden for all. Spanning 80 acres along the Cape Fear River, the Garden serves as a living laboratory showcasing the region's wildlife, native plants, forests, and curated plant collections. Last year, the Garden welcomed over 85,000 visitors to enjoy intriguing and rejuvenating experiences that promote wellness and a passion for nature. Cape Fear Studios Inc. (CFS) is an artist cooperative, a center for the visual arts that partners with organizations such as The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County, the North Carolina Arts Council, and various local and community groups. Since opening its doors in 1989, Cape Fear Studios has offered the community the opportunity to create and freely view art through monthly shifting exhibits (including an annual military exhibit), classes and workshops (such as monthly classes for seniors), and scholarships for children's art classes.

The CARE Clinic has provided free basic medical care and dental work to low-income, uninsured adults since 1993. The organization serves Cumberland and the bordering counties through various services including primary care, simple dental extractions, physical therapy, orthopedics, dermatology, and free medication through an in-house pharmacy. The CARE Clinic is staffed primarily by volunteers, with each clinician donating their time and expertise after their regular day jobs. It is the mission of The CARE Clinic to always serve through Compassion, Assistance, Referral, and Education.
 
 
 
Carolina Collaborative Community Care (4C)
Carolina Collaborative Community Care (4C) is an NCQA accredited organization established in 2004 with the vision of promoting a healthier community. 4C's mission is to improve health care for the community by collaborating with patients, providers, and partners for patient-centered, well-coordinated, value-based care to address both medical and non-medical needs. 4C partners with local agencies to promote preschool development and provide universal newborn home visits and education to families. 4C is also active in community coalitions addressing crisis care, family supports, and food access.

Carolina College of Biblical Studies (CCBS) exists to disciple Christ-followers through Biblical higher education for a lifetime of effective servant leadership. A Place of Healing & Hope: Joining hands with community partners, the Child Advocacy Center offers a safe and child-friendly place to provide support for victims of child abuse. CAC's purpose is to alleviate the trauma children experience once disclosure of abuse occurs through services such as forensic interviewing, victim advocacy, and trauma-focused therapy. CAC also provides prevention education for parents, professionals, and agencies in the community. Communities In Schools of Cumberland County (CIS) is part of the nation's largest, most effective dropout prevention network. Using evidence-based interventions and brokering community resources to address student and family needs, CIS helps tear down barriers to success by surrounding students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Our Jobs for North Carolina's Graduates program equips Cumberland County's next-gen workforce by helping high schoolers build workforce-ready skills that lead to continuing education and jobs with a family sustaining wage.
 
 
 
Communities United for Youth Development
Communities United for Youth Development provides opportunities for students to develop the necessary skills to succeed in school and life. Enrichment activities include tutoring sessions, literacy enhancement, cultural awareness, character development, and career goals exploration. Tutoring is available to students during the school year. Summer camp is held each summer to allow students to have fun while learning. The camp consists of on-site learning and exploration of the world through field trips. Students participate in STEM activities, teamwork, and academic creativity.
 
 
 
Community Concerts of Fayetteville, Inc.
Community Concerts provides free concert opportunities to groups ranging from children to senior citizens. In recent seasons, these audiences have included Vision Resource Center, Fayetteville Urban Ministry, members of local fire and police departments, high school theater arts and music classes, members of the military, and Alzheimer's patients.
 
 
 
Connections of Cumberland County, Inc.
Connections of Cumberland County (CCC) is a nonprofit Day Resource Center that aims to collaborate with all community resources to empower women and children who are experiencing or are at-risk of homelessness to become self-reliant. CCC offers one-stop access to supportive services through comprehensive case management. Clients have access to CCC's computer lab, hygiene closet, Empowerment Groups, case management, budgeting workshop, and Connect-to-Enterprise and Connect-to-Redirect programs, all of which improve client outcomes and quality of life.
 
 
 
Cool Spring Downtown District, Inc.
Cool Spring Downtown District (CSDD) has been enhancing the vitality of arts, entertainment, and economic opportunity for downtown Fayetteville since 2017. CSDD is the managing partner for the Municipal Service District (MSD), a defined special assessment district where property owners contribute to enhanced services. It provides public realm management, activation, and storefront recruitment services. CSDD leverages MSD funds in various ways through marketing, communications, and promotional campaigns that attract more customers to downtown and establish an emotional connection between people and their city.
 
 
 
Cross Creek Cycling Club (C4)
Cross Creek Cycling Club's goal is to encourage everyone to participate in bicycling without regard to age or expertise. The organization promotes all facets of bicycling, including recreational cycling, lifelong cycling, cycling as a means of transportation, and cycling as a sport, with a focus on bicycle safety and the rights and responsibilities of cyclists. Established in 2003, the club has donated over $200,000 to local, state, and national organizations by fundraising and hosting bicycling events.
 
 
 
Cumberland Choral Arts
Established in 1991 as a community choir, Cumberland Choral Arts (CCA) brings world-class choral music to Fayetteville, presenting at least four concerts per season. Nurturing young singers, CCA sponsors the Campbellton Youth Chorus, offering tuition-free high-quality choral music opportunities and instruction to all children of Cumberland County ages 9-16, and features a local high school choir in concert each spring. CCA also collaborates with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra to present Handel's "Messiah" as a gift to the community in December. Sharing the love of music with the Cumberland County community is CCA's goal.
 
 
 
Cumberland County Council on Older Adults
Since 1968, the Council on Older Adults has been helping the community's most vulnerable older adults maintain independence by providing supportive services to assist them in remaining at home for as long as possible. Services include Meals on Wheels, congregate lunch sites, in-home aide services, home accessibility enhancements, resource information and referral, Medicare education and counseling, senior companion and telephone reassurance volunteers, dementia-focused supportive services, and caregiver support. Services are provided through grants, caring volunteers, and generous community donors.
 
 
 
Cumberland County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association
The mission of the Cumberland County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers Association (CCEMGVA) is to connect people to horticulture through education and outreach in support of the Cumberland County Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program. The organization strives to be the trusted source of science-based information that empowers North Carolinians to cultivate healthy plants, landscapes, ecosystems and communities through safe, effective and sustainable gardening practices. CCEMGVA's core values include education, service, respect, fellowship, stewardship, and self-sustaining.
 
 
 
Cumberland HealthNET
Cumberland HealthNET (CHN) is a nonprofit that coordinates healthcare and services for the uninsured. CHN serves approximately 1,500 uninsured, low-income clients living with chronic conditions, such as diabetes. CHN provides improved access to medical care, coordinates health care services, conducts health-related assessments, and offers community education and resources for the uninsured and underinsured. Data shows that 76% of CHN's clients have food insecurities, 42% are unsheltered, and 27% lack transportation. A donation of $25 to CHN can help a person with a chronic condition avoid hospitalization.

Employment Source, A ServiceSource Affiliate, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the North Carolina regional office in Fayetteville that provides innovative and valuable employment, training, rehabilitation, and support services to individuals with disabilities in our community. Programs include: Friendship House Fayetteville, Warrior Bridge (Veterans Program), Community Inclusion Day Program, and the Clark Endowment to Support Independence for People with Disabilities.

Fascinate-U Children's Museum
Fascinate-U Children's Museum is a hands-on museum that has been located in the heart of downtown Fayetteville for over 20 years. Housed in the former City Hall on Green Street, the museum serves toddlers through 12-year-olds with mini-city themed exhibits. It provides in-house and outreach curriculum-based science programs, art classes, birthday parties, and special events. With affordable admission prices and free Wednesdays, the museum serves almost 40,000 people annually, making it a premier educational facility in the Cape Fear region.
 
 
 
Fayetteville Animal Protection Society, Inc.
The mission of Fayetteville Animal Protection Society Inc. is to provide a licensed, no-kill shelter for homeless animals until adopted into a loving and caring lifetime environment; to reduce the population of stray animals; and to promote responsible pet ownership. FAPS is the only no-kill, nonprofit animal shelter in Cumberland County and is supported by volunteers, grants, and individual contributions. FAPS receives no state or federal funding to operate and relies solely on the community to support its mission in rescuing and successfully placing companion animals in their forever homes.
 
 
 
Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity, Inc
Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity (FAHFH) is a Christian organization seeking to put God's love into action in Bladen, Cumberland, and Sampson Counties. FAHFH's vision is a world where everyone has a safe, affordable place to live. Habitat facilitates three programs: New Homeownership, Critical Home Repairs, and Trade Days initiatives with youth, including Construction Camp in the summer. FAHFH's mission is supported by volunteerism, donations to the Habitat ReStore on Bragg Boulevard, and monetary support.
 
 
 
Fayetteville Area Operation Inasmuch
Fayetteville Area Operation Inasmuch is a Christian ministry that serves the homeless and struggling of Cumberland County. Inasmuch offers a nutritious breakfast Monday through Friday along with these services: case management and referrals, showers, laundry, hygiene kits, and medical triage. In addition, Living Hope is a holistic, restorative program for homeless men based in The Lodge and Frink Street houses, and is the only such program in the region. Life skills and job skills training, along with trauma counseling and spiritual development create a solid foundation toward a life of sustained financial independence.
 
 
 
Fayetteville/Cumberland County Continuum of Care on Homelessness
The Fayetteville/Cumberland County Continuum of Care (FCCCC) is designed to promote a community-wide approach to making homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring. FCCCC's mission is to coordinate community services that provide housing choices and prompt access to a variety of housing resources and supports that meet the individual needs of those experiencing homelessness and those at-risk of becoming homeless.
 
 
 
Fayetteville/Cumberland Crime Stoppers, Inc.
Fayetteville/Cumberland Crime Stoppers is operated by local citizens to make this community safer. Established in 1984, Crime Stoppers has worked with regional law enforcement agencies to arrest felons (4,491), recover $8.2 million in property and narcotics, and pay $400,000 in rewards. Citizens call Crime Stoppers at 483-TIPS (8477) with information regarding criminal activity. This number is dedicated to Crime Stoppers information and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Crime Stoppers is making the community safer.

Since 1974, the Fayetteville Family Life Center has provided spiritually/faith-integrated mental health services to Fayetteville and Cumberland County residents. The center provides services to all regardless of ability to pay and/or health insurance coverage.
 
 
 
Fayetteville Police Foundation
The Fayetteville Police Foundation, established in 2009, provides the opportunity for a collaborative effort between the public and private sectors in the shared desire for a safer city. The organization's mission is to promote and strengthen police-community relations by providing support and resources to the Fayetteville Police Department. The mission is accomplished by developing supportive community and private-sector relationships with the department, recognizing and supporting members of the department, supporting innovative and collaborative projects, and securing private funding sources for projects not typically funded by local, state, or federal dollars.
 
 
 
Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, Inc.
The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra (FSO) is a professional orchestra whose mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire the citizens of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and surrounding communities. The FSO impacts over 25,000 people and serves over 250 musicians annually. The FSO performs a variety of free and ticketed concerts across the community, including symphonic masterworks, popular hits, and chamber music. FSO's education programs include the Fayetteville Symphony Youth Orchestra for students ages 7-21, the Fayetteville Symphonic Band for adult musicians, and in-school visits and concerts for over 4,000 third graders.

The mission of FTCC Foundation is to provide financial support and resources for students and academic programs at Fayetteville Technical Community College. FTCC Foundation strives to inspire philanthropy as it partners with donors to grow and manage assets to support student success. FTCC serves over 28,000 students annually and provides more than 280 occupational, technical, general education, college transfer, and continuing education programs. Fayetteville Urban Ministry (FUM) transforms lives! The Find- A-Friend Youth Program sparks faith for a brighter tomorrow in children ages 6-18 through mentoring and interpersonal skills development. The Adult Literacy & Education Center establishes hope for a brighter future by providing basic education. The Emergency Assistance Program seeks to love others by providing food, clothing, and financial assistance to neighbors in need. Friendship Community Gardens (FCG) believes a strong community grows from connection: connection to nature, healthy food, affordable housing, and opportunities to work with and learn from people from different walks and life experiences. Through the gardens, produce market and cottage, FCG works to support Savoy Heights, Arsenal Heights, Friendship House Fayetteville, and their neighboring communities and friends with access to gardening, fresh produce, experiences of the natural world, and unexpected friendships.

The Friends of the Cumberland County Public Library Inc. supports the library in fulfilling its literary, educational, technological, community, and cultural purposes. The group enhances library services for everyone and encourages gifts, endowments, and financial support that would not otherwise be possible.
 
 
 
Gilbert Theater, The
The Gilbert Theater strives to foster community engagement, inclusivity, diversity, and a love for storytelling. Located in downtown Fayetteville at 116 Green St. (second floor above the Fascinate-U Children's Museum), it is dedicated to the mission of creating theater that challenges, entertains, and enriches the community. The theater offers educational opportunities for children and adults, and the main stage productions run the gamut from lesser-known works to popular favorites. The theater seeks to create a diverse collection of programs and volunteer opportunities for all those interested. At The Gilbert Theater, storytelling always takes center stage.
 
 
 
Greater Life of Fayetteville (GLOF), Inc
Greater Life of Fayetteville's (GLOF) mission is to help children and families rise above their circumstances and thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. GLOF provides comprehensive support in collaboration with like-focused organizations, faith-based groups, and foundations to offer intervention and prevention programs. These programs provide specific support to children 7 to 14 years old with academic and behavioral challenges and to families coping with limited resources. GLOF's future plans are to offer life skill development to young adults who often fall through the cracks.

GroundSwell Pictures is the umbrella organization that holds the annual Indigo Moon Film Fest (IMFF) the second weekend in October. The festival is used to fulfill the organization's mission of engaging and inspiring diverse communities through films that make a positive difference. IMFF continues to support filmmakers and enrich the community through this important and underrepresented cultural art. It is GroundSwell Pictures' hope that marginalized communities and voices can be heard, appreciated, and honored through the film festival.

Heritage Square has three historic properties all listed on the National Register of Historic Places: the Sandford House (circa 1797), the Oval Ballroom (circa 1818), and the Baker-Haigh-Nimocks House (circa 1804). Heritage Square Historical Society seeks to continue to research all aspects of its historical background to include diverse perspectives in order to engage and promote interest in the significance of historical preservation.

The organization collaborates with ministries such as Seth's Wish, the Friendship House, Harvest Ministries, Sandhills Family Heritage Association, Connections of CC, and more! LaFayette Society, Inc.
The Lafayette Society was founded in 1981 to increase awareness of Lafayette's numerous contributions to American liberty and human equality. The organization sponsors local college endowments, leadership initiatives, and events and programs that are both educational and entertaining. The goal is to promote Lafayette's character values within the community and to show their relevance in today's world. Membership is open to all who want to help in these endeavors.
 
 
 
Massey Hill Heritage Preservation Project
Over the past several years, the Massey Hill Heritage Preservation Project has commissioned a public art piece in a major roundabout in Massey Hill, erected information signs highlighting key historic spots, and restored and painted a textile mill water tower promoting the community. The Massey Hill Heritage Preservation Project recently relocated and restored a historic textile house into a Massey Hill Millhouse Museum. Plans include ongoing acquisition and display of Massey Hill community memorabilia and continued nightly lighting of the Puritan Mill water tower.
 
 
 
Methodist University
Methodist University (MU) offers a private, liberal arts-based education annually to approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Students can pursue degrees in humanities, sciences, technology, education, business, health sciences, and human services in a small, student-friendly environment. Ninety-seven percent of MU students qualify for financial assistance. Community donations support vital need-based financial and emergency scholarships for hundreds of MU students annually.
 
 
 
Miller's Crew, Inc.
Miller's Crew provides vocational opportunities for individuals with special needs. Because of the limited number of opportunities to connect with their community and receive specific training to prepare them for employment, 87% of these young adults are unemployed. Since 2016, Miller's Crew has provided vocational training labs in local high schools, the Cooking with the Crew mobile training lab/ food truck, and their new brick and mortar training company and coffee shop called Miller's Brew. Miller's Crew continues to CONNECT with their community, TRAIN their crew, and prepare them for purposeful EMPLOYment.
 
 
 
Moore Street Foundation
Moore Street Foundation was organized as a nonprofit organization in 2009 to promote the involvement of literary, civic, educational, and charitable endeavors through community development. The organization is associated with First Baptist Church Moore Street. Every year since the start, they have hosted a free, three-week summer reading camp for 100 school-age children. Partnerships and collaborations with community businesses and local organizations have allowed the curriculum to expand to now include science, technology, engineering, and math activities.
 
 
 
Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex Foundation, Inc.
The Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex (MCFHC) Foundation supports the MCFHC in the development of new exhibits, educational programming, the purchase of artifacts, and other needs to support the museum complex and staff to include the 1897 Poe House and Arsenal Park. The Museum complex is a regional branch of the North Carolina Museum of History. The Museum complex is currently working to transform into the NC History Center on the Civil War, Emancipation & Reconstruction while maintaining current programming.
 
 
 
Myrover-Reese Fellowship Homes, Inc.
Myrover-Reese Recovery Homes offers a 6 month residential treatment program to those seeking recovery from alcoholism and addiction. Since 1961, the organization has helped uninsured and homeless men and women in Cumberland County who have no other access to treatment. Treatment includes job training, life skills, 12 step recovery community, counseling, and faith-based resources that enable residents to transition back into successful members of the community.
 
 
 
NC History Center on the Civil War, Emancipation & Reconstruction Foundation
The mission is to tell the stories of ALL North Carolinians during the Civil War and Reconstruction eras. In 2020, the organization built offices, a catering kitchen, and a film studio and classroom. Across 2023-24, they began conducting symposia to guide elementary and high school teachers in teaching about the Civil War and Reconstruction. They also completed an outdoor pavilion and parking lot this past summer. Groundbreaking will take place for the main facility at the end of the year. Opening in 2027, the Center will become a community and state resource, owned and operated by the State of North Carolina.

Rape Crisis Volunteers of Cumberland County
Rape Crisis Volunteers of Cumberland County (RCVCC) was established in 1974 to provide services to victims of sexual violence. The organization has expanded its services over the last five years to include cold case victim advocacy and intimate partner violence advocacy. The agency is now a state site for the e-filing of domestic violence protection orders. As of 2020, RCVCC also provides services to human trafficking victims. All victims have access to a 24-hour crisis line, hospital and court advocacy, support groups, and individual counseling. All services are free and not contingent on a police report.
 
 
 
Rick Herrema Foundation Inc., The
The Rick Herrema Foundation (RHF) was created to honor the life of a Fort Bragg soldier, Sgt. 1st Class Richard J. Herrema, who gave the ultimate sacrifice in 2006 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. RHF operates Rick's Place, a 50-acre private greenspace for the military. The mission is to strengthen relationships and build community for military families through fun, quality activities. Rick's Place has a play area, picnic area, Family Fun Days, fitness programs, arts, camps, cooking classes, and volunteering opportunities! RHF is expanding quality activities with the addition of a fitness trail, a pond, and a new playground.

The Community Center offers after-school care and summer day camp, both aimed to help at-risk youth. The Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina is an Action Pathways Inc. program. Action Pathways also operates Head Start, Weatherization, and the ASPIRE Self-Sufficiency Program. The Food Bank was established in 1982 and has provided food for people facing hunger in Cumberland County for over 40 years. Through its distribution center in Cumberland County, the food bank serves a network of more than 150 partner agencies, such as soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and programs for children and adults.
 
 
 
Special Olympics Cumberland County
Special Olympics Cumberland County's mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Participants are provided with continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. The organization leads the community by generating professional opportunities for artists, sustaining a highly collaborative, artist-centered culture; encouraging innovative practices; producing simple, elemental, and accessible performances; immersing audiences and artists in an atmosphere of belonging; and developing artists through education and training.
 
 
 
Tarheel Quilters Guild
Since 1981, the Tarheel Quilters Guild mission has been to promote and perpetuate the art of quilting. The guild's work is designed to benefit and educate all persons interested in preserving and advancing this art. Monthly meetings include a quilt-related program, fellowship, and viewing of guild and personal projects. Guild members deliver 25-30 baby quilts monthly to the Cape Fear Valley Hospital NICU and donate over 100 quilts to the veterans in the VA Hospital yearly. The guild also makes placemats for the Meals on Wheels organization. The guild offers workshops led by national teachers and guild members.
 
 
 
Tulsa Initiative Inc., The
The Tulsa Initiative encourages empowerment through local entrepreneurship by offering programs for local male entrepreneurs ages 18-26 and high school youth in grades 9-12. The organization aims to inspire local entrepreneurs through networking, mentorship, and education, creating capital resources to enhance their lives, businesses and communities. The Tulsa Leadership and Entrepreneurship Academy provides a 14-week program empowering local individuals in their entrepreneurial journey. Tulsa also hosts The Fayetteville Youth Summit, uniting over 350 high school youth leaders to ignite positive change in the community.
 
 
 
United Way of Cumberland County
The United Way of Cumberland County aims to improve lives by addressing critical human needs. One of its programs, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, provides children with books mailed monthly from infancy to age 5. Starting with "The Little Engine That Could," children can build a library of 60 books by kindergarten, ending with "Look Out Kindergarten, Here I Come!" A $30 donation sends 12 brand-new books, while $150 provides a child with a book every month from birth to age 5. This program helps children foster a love of reading.
 
 
 
Vision Resource Center
Vision Resource Center (VRC) is the only nonprofit of its kind in North Carolina serving adults and children who are blind and visually impaired. VRC's different programs (Walking Club, Foodies, Advocacy, and Travel Groups) engage participants socially, mentally, and physically. The monthly Power Lunch program brings community and health initiatives to the group, and VRC's "On the Move" program partners with local organizations in the community for other sensory activities. The VRC-VLY Reading Service brings news and information to listeners who are blind and print-impaired through a radio streaming service.

The YMCA of the Sandhills is more than a "gym and swim." It is a community service organization whose purpose is determined by the community's needs. The YMCA offers free or reduced child care, swim lessons, and summer camp to those in need. The YMCA also offers free memberships and rehab to wounded veterans and their families. In short, the YMCA is committed to serving the community at large and just happens to have a gym and pool.
 
 
 
Youth for Christ USA, Inc. Fayetteville Area
Youth For Christ (YFC) reaches young people by working together with local churches and like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus. The Campus Life program serves middle and high schools, helping young people make good choices and avoid drug and alcohol addiction, pregnancy, self-harm, low self-esteem, suicide, criminal behavior, bullying, dropping out of school, child abuse, and sex trafficking. The City Life program is a holistic ministry that reaches underserved and at-risk teens with support and resources at YFC's City Life Teen Center and in the community.
